OUTSIDE THE VILLA

Even the chores seem easier in the Canarian sun .....
We all know how difficult it is to stay within the airlines' weight allowance, especially for a family, but in Casa Mariposa this becomes less of a problem because there is an automatic washing machine in the utility area. In the Canaries, bad drying days just don't come around very often, so providing a clean T-shirt or pair of shorts is a bit easier - they will be dry in no time on the drying rack at the back of the house - and if they really do need to be ironed, you will find an iron and ironing board in the house.
The utility room originally was a room with no roof - standard design in Fuerteventura because of the island's wonderful climate and lack of rain - if it should rain the washing machine even had its own plastic mac!!
However, we have recently had a roof put on the utility room and this is where to look for the cushions for the loungers, the parasols and the clothes pegs. |
