You certainly don't need to hire a car to enjoy a stay in Casa Mariposa as all of the resort is within walking distance of the villa, but there are many car hire firms with offices in Caleta if you would like to explore more of the island independently. Some suggestions are on our Useful Links page.
There is a Tourist Information Office in the centre of the resort where you can find details of several places of interest to visit. We have also left some brochures and flyers in the villa to give you an idea of what the island has to offer and some of our visitors have added their suggestions to the Visitors' Book.
