On the Beach .....
Families in particular will enjoy the golden beaches, the safe, shallow waters and the friendly, laid-back atmosphere of Caleta de Fuste. However, if you are feeling a bit more energetic, use the links on the left for some ideas of other things the island offers. There really is something for everyone to enjoy during their holiday.
All the beaches in Caleta are man-made with sand brought from the Sahara. Until recently there was one main beach in the town but as the resort has developed new sandy areas with sheltered lagoons have been created about 15 minutes walk away near the Centro Atlantico.

The original beach is next to the old town harbour, in a curving bay. Loungers and umbrellas are available for hire. Nearby there are cafes and restaurants on the paved walkway, which follows the bay round to the harbour area and beyond in one direction, and to the new beaches in the other.
Look out for the sand sculptures on Caleta's main beach. They are amazing and the youngsters can try their hand at sand castle school in the afternoons. |
