Families in particular will enjoy the golden beaches, the safe, shallow waters and
the friendly,
laid-back atmosphere of Caleta de Fuste.
All the
beaches in Caleta
are man-made with sand brought from the Sahara. The
town's
original horseshoe shaped beach near the harbour has a gentle slope into the
sea, providing a safe environment for children of all ages with no dangerous
currents.
A short walk along the promenade will take you to
more sandy beaches at the Centro Atlantico. These also provide
safe bathing as there are breakwaters forming sheltered lagoons.
However, if you are feeling a bit more energetic, use the links on
the left for some ideas of other things Caleta and
Fuerteventura offer. There really is something for everyone to
enjoy during their holiday.

Loungers
and umbrellas are available for hire on the beaches and
nearby there are cafes
and
restaurants on the paved walkway, which follows the bay round
to the harbour area and beyond in one direction, and to the new beaches in
the other.

Look out for the
sand sculptures on Caleta's main beach. They are
amazing and the youngsters can try their hand at sand castle school in
high season.
